Alex Vinh is a singer and actor currently based in NYC. He recently finished a run in the National Tour of Wicked as Boq, performing to sold out audience around the continent. Alex was also in the original comapny of Tony Award-winning Kimberly Akimbo on Broadway. Other credits include Off-Broadway shows, television series, and regional theaters around the country.
He is a first generation Vietnamese-American born and raised in Houston, TX. Alex's artistic interests began at an early age. He played flute, studied piano, and competed in speech and debate tournaments until he did his first musical junior year of high school. He discovered he could combine his love for music and acting into one medium. As a young performer, he had doubts about pursuing musical theatre as a career because he did not see a lot of people like him on stage. Now, he hopes to contribute to the movement of increasing Asian-American visibility in the arts so that young performers like him never second guess their artistic potential or their place in the industry. In addition to performing, Alex also designs hair and wigs for theatrical productions. He has recently started working with clients overcoming medical hair loss.
